Let it Fondue

“The snow’s really piling up.” Harry sighed as he stared out the window.

“As it often does in winter,” observed Severus from the comfort of his chair.

“But I wanted to try that new fondue restaurant, remember?” Harry whinged. “Now we can’t. We can’t Apparate or Floo in this weather.”

Severus looked up. “I have a fondue set.”

Harry blinked. “You do?”

“Why so surprised?” Severus asked. “I do like to cook.”

“Well yes, but—” Harry shrugged. “You don’t strike me as the fondue type.”

“Is that so?” Snapping his book shut, Severus stood. “You want fondue, you’ll get fondue.”

“Wow,” said Harry, licking his lips. “This is delicious.”

Severus dipped bread into the cheese sauce. “Acceptable,” he agreed.

“We should do this more often.” Harry grinned, sucking warm cheese off his thumb. “It’ll be our new Christmas tradition. Festive fondue for the holidays.”

“Fine with me.” Severus sat back in his chair. “Still regretting the snow?”

“Not so much now.” Harry smiled. “Now it just feels cosy.”

“So you no longer feel the urge to venture out into the snow tonight?” asked Severus.

“Nope.” Harry clasped Severus’ hand. “Now I’m happy we stayed home and…fondued.”

Severus laughed. “Agreed.”
