Sectus wrap up post
Sorry I've been so quiet lately, but I have been a bit distracted, what with the whole 'being on holiday in London' thing, plus going to Sectus, and then there was this book that came out... Anyway, yeah.
I know I have missed tons, and I'll try to catch up when I get home in a couple of days, but in the meantime here's my take on my first HP con, and there are no spoilers, although I will be dropping names. *wg*

shiv5468 is a Hufflepuff. Yeah, well she says she is, anyway. I think she's a bit confused, and although she did make me and smoke dinner the night before the con and entertain us with funny stories, a lot of the stories were about the people she's maimed killed had less than friendly discussions with. Just saying. ;) Anyway, she's hilarious, a very fun person, and OMG even MORE witty in person than on line. Scary, hm? *g*
She's just one of the many cool people I met at Sectus.
I really should have just registered for the thing, but i was worried that I would be bored and it would be a waste. *shrug* At least I'll know next time, right?
We waited in line with about 200 to 300 people for the book and had it by 00:30, read it overnight and went to Sectus after no sleep. I thought I'd be too old for this but I did okay. Reminded me a bit of med school, lol. :)
The 'lectures' were fun, more like round tables were audience participation was encouraged, and the Not the Yule Ball was a blast. *g*
I metr_grayjoy, who made finding her very easy, what with the apple-green hair. *g*
ragdoll, twilightsorcery, its_art and katesque were great to hang out with that first day.
And OMG, I metsnapetoy and dementordelta *squee*, who are both wonderfully optimistic, happy, sweet ladies. They made me so cheerful about fandom and about the future. Thank you, ladies!
I metamanuensis1, who was so welcoming and cheerful, and she even promised me fluffy Snarry. *glee*
I metdracofiend, who is lovely and who gave me great perspective on what to write next. I think I'll take her advice and just write my stories the way I want to and not worry so much. :)
I metlizardspots, who is the most adorable person ever. I considered kidnapping her to keep in my pocket but I thought someone would notice. ;)
I metsmoke, who is just as optimistic about her OTP (Snupin) as is humanly possible.
And there are so many others that I met but whose LJ names I didn't catch or can't spell right, lol. A lot of friending is coming up, I suspect.r_grayjoy promised to start a com to make the post Sectus friending easier, so I'm just waiting. *drums fingers*
All in all most people were enthusiastically cheerful about what comes next and chomping at the bit to write. And OMG the Snarry contingent was awesome. Yay Snarry!
I have to say I was glad to have been here for the release of this book, reading amonsgt friends. It felt a lot better than HBP. THAT took me a while to get over, but this book feels pretty good to me. I can work with it. ;)
calico_jynx, nessime_lisen, kit84, _the_firedancer, shiv5468, maryx_, smoke and I topped off the evening with going to see the movie and then heading out for Indian food, yum.
I still have another full day in London and I'll be completing my shopping, running about doing things with people, then I'll be home.
I shall try to get the weekly wrap up post done at some point tomorrow, and I'm working on some fics, but I guess the rush is over, right? Canon is now complete. Here we go! :)
