Wow, that list hasn't changed much, has it? *sigh* Maybe because of the Equus distraction?

So I met up with [insanejournal.com profile] kabal, [insanejournal.com profile] winoniel, [insanejournal.com profile] twilightsorcery, [insanejournal.com profile] unsymbolic, [insanejournal.com profile] shellydkitty and her friend L for lunch. It's been a while since I had Ethiopian food, and it was delicious!
After lunch, we tracked down [insanejournal.com profile] ragdoll and [insanejournal.com profile] midnitemarauder and we went to the Japanese bookstore in Manhattan where we gave [insanejournal.com profile] winioniel a crash course in anime and where we gave the security guard angst. *g* Apparently a group of people congregating near the door was not to his taste, go figure.
We separated then, some people coming with me to my hotel to change, the others going for coffee or whatever. And just for [insanejournal.com profile] dementordelta, we did stop at Dunkin Donuts for coffee and donuts on the way to the hotel just cuz we could. ;)
After a difficult time hailing a cab, we finally got to the theatre, where we were seated on the R in the orchestra. Naturally, there were tall people in front of us, but we managed, and it didn't distract too much from the play, which is EXCELLENT I must say.
Richard Griffiths was superb, Kate Mulgrew was... loud, lol. I was particularly fascinated by the actors who played the horses; they really had horse body language and mannerisms down pat.
Oh, yes, and there was this other kid... *g*
Ok, so Dan was AMAZING. He really immersed himself in the role and he pulled the audience in with him. He gave a great performance and he totally had me believing him as this troubled boy.
I wasn't familiar with the story before going in, so it was a pleasant surprise. I won't spoil it for anyone except to say that it's very intense, and by the time they got to the naked scene it totally made sense in the context of the play. I imagine it's draining to do that several times a week. I totally give Dan props for it, it's not an easy thing to do.
And since the slashchat ladies keep going after me for it, I will say that naked Dan is... well built, proportional, firmly muscled (nice butt!) and just right where it counts. *g*
After the play we waited around to see if we could catch a glimpse of Dan, and we did, through the throngs of people. Wow, it was a bit crazy there, although I did manage to snap a pic of Dan talking to the crowd and signing autographs (using [insanejournal.com profile] twilightsorcery's phone). It's sometimes nice to be kinda tall although it's odd snapping pics by holding your arms up and clicking indiscriminately, lol. The pic, albeit blurry, is clearly of Dan, and once I get a copy I'll post it.
We went out to dinner afterward, where we chatted with Jimmy, our waiter, who was a lot of fun. Then, [insanejournal.com profile] midnitemarauder drove us back to my hotel so people could get their stuff and so we didn't have to get even wetter in the rain.
I'm glad I went and I'm REALLY glad I have tickets for another show in October! *glee*

As for other news, I know fests are posting and I hope everyone is watching the [insanejournal.com profile] hd_inspired's Back to School Fest, as well as [insanejournal.com profile] fall_fantasia. Oh and speaking of, I got Billville as my gift at [insanejournal.com profile] fall_fantasia! It posted today, so do go and check it out. These Small Beginnings

That's all I've got. Has anything excited happened while I was gone that I need to know 'bout? *g*
