Getting the Message
~
Exasperated, Minerva eyed her deputy headmaster and her DADA professor. “You’ve been getting along all term,” she said. “What happened?”
Harry snorted. “Ask Professor Snape.”
Minerva raised an eyebrow at Severus, who huffed. “Please tell Professor Potter it’s not polite to lie.”
“I’m not lying!” Harry shouted.
Severus continued staring at Minerva. “Also, if you could give Professor Potter a message, Headmistress--”
“She’s not an owl,” snapped Harry. “I know you’re not a coward. Why won’t you face me?”
Severus whirled, glaring at Harry.
Pursing her lips, Minerva started for the door. “I’ll let you two discuss this in private.”
~
Eventually, the shouting stopped, and after fifteen minutes, Minerva dared poke her head back inside her office. Expecting to see Severus and Harry talking, she blinked when instead, she found them kissing, Harry’s arms wrapped around Severus’ neck, Severus’ hands cupping Harry’s arse. Well, well, she thought. Apparently this is why they’ve been getting along so well.
She coughed, amused when they sprang apart, and pleased to note that Harry didn’t entirely release Severus, clinging to his hand. “I take it you’ve settled your differences?” she said.
Harry smiled. “We’re working on it.”
“Potter’s getting the message.” Severus hummed. “Slowly.”
~
Harry rolled his eyes. “May we be excused, Headmistress? Professor Snape and I have more...things to discuss.” He coughed. “And you’d probably like your office back.”
Minerva inclined her head. “I would.” She hummed. “And it’s nice to see you...cooperating again. May I ask what the problem was?”
Severus coloured. “I...jumped to some conclusions.”
“You? Shocking,” Minerva deadpanned. She stepped aside to them pass. “Do be sure to send me a message later to let me know you’re all right.”
Severus raised an eyebrow as they exited. “Ah, but as they say, no news is good news.”

This was funny and romantic, both. I really liked everyone's insistence of talking about all that kissing without ever calling it for what it was at all: "more things to discuss", indeed. Come on, boys, if you can do it then you should be able to name it, too. ;D

I had to chuckle at the thought of Minerva locking them in her office again should it be necessary. *giggles*
As for 'naming it' I suspect they tempered their description of what they were off to do in order to spare Minerva, not because of any reluctance to state what they were up to. ;)
Thanks so much for the thoughtful comments, hon! They're always appreciated.
