Dear Harry Potter Fandom,

You are crazy, but I love you anyway.

There, I said it.

Yes, you have been wonderful to me, and because of you I have made many dear friends and forged some strong bonds with people I otherwise would never have met, but you are also nuts.

Where else could I have lost ever inhibition I ever had and learned snowballing, and pearl necklaces, munging (thanks for that one, eww!) and felching?

When we first started seeing each other I thought an affair between Severus Snape and Harry Potter was ridiculous, absurd even. And yet you have shown me otherwise. You have taught me that there is no character too obscure to ship with Severus Kingsley Harry another. And you have shown me that even characters that are old ugly grey fat just like me deserve love. Kinky love, even. *g*

So thank you. Thank you for teaching me so much, for helping my mind and my heart grow with every new story, piece of art, fanvid, meta I see and with every podcast, podfic I hear.
Thank you for making me a Harry Potter geek. Thanks to you I am the expert on Harry Potter no matter where I go in the real world.

And thank you for all the precious friendships you've brought into my life.
