•Thirteen reasons to never go swimming again. 2 and 13? Yikes!

*cocks head in confusion* What's wrong with basking sharks? They (and whale sharks, number 8) are the nearest sharks come to a pacifist vegetarian; they're peaceful creatures that just swim along with their mouths open because they're filtering out all the little fish and plankton to eat, just like the larger whales do.

I'd be more afraid of the alligator or anaconda; they'd be happy to turn you into lunch, and are well able to do it.

Seaweed, though, is more of a common sense thing; if you can't see what you swimming in then don't get in. The people who get entangled in seaweed (or other water vegetation) are breaking one of the cardinal rules of safety in the water; check that it is safe to get in!

Those aren't teeth, they're the gaps between the gill rakers which help filter the plankton. Their actual teeth are tiny.

Also just tried the vocabulary test. 29975, top 0.12%! *boogies around room* This appears to be a very intelligent flist.

Baby beaver? Adorable. The tail...!

I feel some sympathy for the drivers in oven gloves. I once ended up scalded by the emblem on my steering wheel (I started draping a teatowel over it after that).

Not too bad for an EFL speaker. *g*

Thirteen reasons to never go swimming again.

Serious swimmer here, who swims in pools only.
