“Wait.” Neville frowned at Hermione and Ron. “You want me to do what?”
Hermione smiled. “Harry’s clearly in love with Snape, and Snape feels the same way, they’re just being stubborn. We’re only trying to help.”
“Actually, I’m for finding Harry another boyfriend--” muttered Ron.
“Shut it, Ron.” Hermione leaned forward. “Please, Neville? Your bouquets are gorgeous! The plan’s perfect.”
“My charmed flowers are only dependable with people who are already emotionally involved,” warned Neville.
“Which they are,” Hermione said. “Trust us.”
Neville sighed. “Shouldn’t they be allowed to take their time?”
“They will,” promised Hermione, grinning. “We’re just...helping.”

Neville figured he was in trouble when Snape, Harry in tow, entered his shop. “Snape. Harry. Welcome.”
“Hullo, Nev.” Harry smiled. “We’re here to thank you.”
Neville relaxed. “Oh? For?”
Snape cleared his throat. “But for your...involvement, I suspect our feelings would still be...undeclared.”
Neville blinked. “Huh?”
Grinning, Harry clasped Snape’s hand. “When your bouquets began arriving, Severus got jealous, becoming quite attentive.”
Neville coughed. “That was Hermione’s idea.”
“Indeed.” Snape snorted. “She can always be depended upon to meddle.”
Harry winked. “We’re hoping you’ll help with some payback.”
Slowly, Neville smiled. “What do you have in mind?”
~
Neville wasn’t surprised when Ron’s gobsmacked face appeared in his Floo. “Neville! What’s with--?”
“Neville!” Hermione appeared beside Ron. “The bouquets are gorgeous.”
“Glad you like them.” Neville smiled.
“They’re marvellous!” Hermione was glowing. “They’re the perfect marriage proposal.”
Ron’s face went pale. “They’re what?”
“Those are proposal bouquets,” Neville explained. “They can be depended on to get anyone to say yes.”
“Which I have.” Hermione began pulling a sputtering Ron away from the Floo. “We must tell our parents! Bye, Neville!”
Once the Floo was clear, Neville chuckled. Time to send Harry a message that their little plan worked.
~
“So because Hermione interfered with Snape and Harry, they did the same?” Luna sighed. “It is justice.”
Neville nodded. “At least it worked out. I wasn’t sure I should’ve meddled.”
“You weren’t meddling, though.” Luna smiled serenely. “You just provided the means for love to flourish. People often need a push.”
Neville bit his lip. “People like...us?”
Luna clasped his hand. “Well, we deserve to be happy, too.” Relieved, Neville reached into his pocket, but she stopped him. “I know about the ring. We should have sex first.”
Neville laughed. She could always be depended upon to surprise him.
