Weekend Labour

~

Draco settled onto the sofa, book in hand. He lived for Saturdays, the day he could relax and not contemplate work.

Which was why, when Harry entered the room, gardening tools in hand, Draco frowned. “No.”

Harry raised an eyebrow. “I haven’t said anything yet.”

“I know what you’re going to say and the answer is no.” Draco propped his feet up on an ottoman. “It’s Saturday and I’m allergic to labour on Saturdays.”

Harry laughed. “Fine. It’s a beautiful day, I’ll take care of the weeding, you relax.”

Draco smirked. “Good plan.” And, opening his book, began to read.

~

Draco had a perfect view of the garden from the sofa. After several minutes of reading, he glanced up to see how Harry’s gardening was progressing. Upon seeing Harry, shirtless, bent over a flower bed, his bottom perfectly outlined by his tight trousers, however, Draco discarded his book, leaning forward.

Sweat glistened on Harry’s skin, the sheen of the moisture showing every muscle in sharp relief.

Licking his lips, Draco swallowed hard. He’d meant to spend the day reading, but the sight of Harry labouring away made him contemplate...other things.

Slowly, Draco smiled and, rising, he started to prepare.

“Lemonade?” Draco purred, approaching Harry.

Glancing up from his weeding, Harry grinned. “Thanks.” He reached for the glass Draco offered, downing it quickly. “It’s really hot today.”

“Things certainly look hot,” Draco agreed. “So...are your labours almost complete?”

“Almost. I’ve a couple more beds to tend, but I should be done in time for lunch.”

Draco hummed. “Speaking of beds you have to tend--”

“What are you--? Draco!” Harry blinked up at Draco, who’d tackled him and was straddling him in the dirt. “I’m sweaty!”

Smirking, Draco leaned in, licking the hollow of Harry’s throat. “Trust me, I know.”

Covered with dirt and other things, Harry and Draco reentered the house. “So much for weeding,” Harry said.

“If you’re worried, you can return to your labours.”

“I’m not in the mood anymore.” Harry pursed his lips. “Anyway, I’m glad our cottage is isolated. Otherwise our neighbours would’ve had quite the eyeful.”

Draco shrugged. “Anyone who watches other people in their own homes deserves what they see.”

Harry grinned. “Agreed. So, are you returning to your reading?”

“Are you mad? I can’t sit on the furniture like this.”

“Right.” Harry hummed. “So...shower?”

Slowly, Draco smiled. I love Saturdays. “Perfect.”
