Face to Face

Watching Snape receive his Order of Merlin, Harry smiled. It’d taken weeks of lobbying to persuade the Wizengamot to not only exonerate him, but to award him their highest honour.
Even Harry’s friends hadn’t understood his quest, although they’d supported him. There had been times when Harry himself had wondered why he was bothering. Yet, as Snape left the stage, and they ended up face to face, he knew it was worth it.
Offering his hand, Harry said, “Congratulations, sir.”
Snape stared at Harry as if truly seeing him for the first time.
Finally, thought Harry.
Snape smiled. “Thank you.”
