1) Do you enjoy your work?
The work itself? Yes. The bureaucracy and paperwork (yes we're on a computerized medical records system but I have to tell you, we use more paper now than we did before), the politics and administration interference, the negotiating with insurance companies... Not so much.
2) Are you overpaid or underpaid for the work you do (or last did)?
I would say I'm compensated fairly for what I do. Now, that said, there are things that are expected of us that are not compensated at all, which isn't fair. But then, no one claimed life was fair. :P
3) What one thing do you dislike most about your work?
The bureaucracy and paperwork! See my answer to question #1.
4) What one thing would make your work life happier or more satisfying?
Not having to deal with administrators, insurance companies, and paperwork. *g* If I could just see patients and help them feel better, and not worry about the other crap, that would be awesome.
5) Do you try to fit into your workplace’s culture? What does that entail?
Hm. This is interesting. I'm not sure doctors are known for our ability/willingness to 'fit in'. We all seem to evolve our own way of doing things. I'm told by our nurses that we all have our own style and we all practice quite differently. I suspect the staff who work for us adapt to us rather than the other way around. :)
