London - Day 1

I flew in to London today and maybe my memory is faulty, but I don't recall international flight seats being so small... I swear by the time we landed I felt as if I'd been twisted into a permanent pretzel shape.
And that wasn't all...
When did international flights get so, well, HOT? I remember freezing on planes before but I swear I was contemplating stripping just to avoid overheating, and I wasn't the only one.
Also? Long immigration line was LONG. Thank goodness for a customs agent with a sense of humor. :)
BTW, have I ever mentioned how much I love the Heathrow Express?
Then came the insane line for a taxi cab to the hotel. I dunno how they're going to manage at the height of the Olympics if this was an average Monday...
BUT, sweet little hotel is sweet, the staff are lovely (and CUTE!) and the location is great. Despite the constant rain (yes, yes, I know I should have expected it) it was a good day, once I got my body untwisted from its pretzel shape. *eyeroll*
After lunch (we ate while they got our rooms ready) we showered, then spent the afternoon roaming (re-familiarizing ourselves with) the neighborhood. We even got some shopping in. *g*
Mummy arrived in time for dinner, which we had at a lovely Italian place close to the hotel and now I'm back in my room, doing my best to stay up long enough so I'l sleep until a normal time in the morning, thus having a relatively painless time adjustment. *crosses fingers*
Anyway, I owe about a zillion replies to comments, which I hope to get to tomorrow. I'm afraid my only replies tonight will be "thank youzzzzzzzz".
So, goodnight, all. *smooches everyone, especially
lilyseyes, whose texts kept me entertained on the long immigration line wait*
