Reveals: HD_Holidays

hd_holidays has posted their final set of reveals *sniff*, which means I can now claim the story I wrote for ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
papered.
It's called Knockturn Alley Patrol and it gave me some fits while I was writing it, let me tell you. Still, with the help of my friends, I managed. *g* I'll prolly repost in a bit.
In addition, I can now properly thank the very talentedomi_ohmy for their simply FABULOUS gift, Coffee Cakes and Doorknob Snakes, which I previously recced here. If you have not read it you really need to give it a try, it's awesome! It really does transcend ship preferences, it's that good. :)
I know Hols isn't universally loved, but I do think it's a good example of just how enthusiastic fandom can be. Every time I see people lamenting that HP fandom is dying I look at Hols and I smile. Clearly it's not dying from where I'm sitting... :)
I've also seen people asking why not just pass it on to another set of mods but I can understand the reluctance to to that, too. Passing the torch sometimes woks but often time doesn't, andhd_holidays has a pretty big reputation, I'd hate to see that besmirched by improper management. Plus, I'm sure something will spring up to fill the gap next year and I'm kinda excited to see what that may be. *g*
Anyway, I'm a bit sad to seehd_holidays go, although I can only imagine the amount of work involved in a fest that size *shudders* so I can't blame the hardworking mods for needing a break. *pets them* While I'm sure something will take its place next Holiday season, it won't be hd_holidays. HD fans are nothing if not resourceful, though, so I've no doubt there will be something to take its place soon. :)
