Pursuing Happiness

“Romilda claims you and Snape lunched...intimately in the office today,” Hermione murmured.
Harry groaned, then frowned. “Since when are you friends with her?”
Hermione snorted. “Since never. She was talking to Dean in records.” At Harry’s gasp she smiled. “Don’t worry. I...encouraged them to forget everything.”
“You Obliviated a Ministry employee?” Harry shook his head. “What happened to that straight-laced girl I once knew?”
“You and Ron happened.” Hermione shrugged. “Plus, you deserve to pursue happiness without worrying about cheap gossips.”
Harry grinned. “Remind me never to upset you.”
She chuckled. “Oh, I doubt you need a reminder.”

“Hermione did what?” Severus pursed his lips. “That’s rather daring.”
Harry nodded. “It is. Although Romilda should’ve known better. Everyone knows Hermione’s brilliant with Memory Charms and protective of her friends.”
Severus hummed. “Evidently. Do you think Ronald would take it amiss if I sent her flowers?”
“I think he’d be fine with it.” Harry paused. “Just...give him some warning first, will you?”
Severus frowned. “Warning?”
“In case he wants to send her something first. I don’t think he wants you showing him up.”
“Indeed.” Severus smirked. “That could definitely curtail his pursuit of marital happiness.”
Harry laughed. “Exactly.”
