A Proper Atmosphere

“Shouldn’t you be heading home?” Hermione asked.
Harry glanced up from his paperwork. “I’ve reports to finish.” He grinned. “Unless you’re offering to do them for me--”
“The Snodgrass case?” At his nod, Hermione extended her hand. “Give them here.”
Harry blinked. “But you’ve your own work--”
She laughed. “Oh, the office atmosphere’s quiet today. I’m bored.” She smirked. “Plus, there’s a rumour that you’ve plans this weekend.”
Harry blushed. “I never said--”
“Ron mentioned something.”
“But--”
“Plus, your face says it all.” She grabbed the parchments. “Go, before I change my mind.”
“I owe you, Hermione!”
“Yes you do.”
~
Harry barely made it home before Severus thrust a bag in his hands and said, “Are you ready?”
“I guess. So where are we going?”
Severus smiled. “It’s a surprise. Now hold on.”
The sudden tug of Side-Along-Apparation left Harry breathless for a moment. When they landed, he looked around, blinking. “Wow. Are we in--?”
“Tahiti.” Severus clasped his hand, leading him towards a luxurious-looking villa. “This belongs to the Malfoys.”
Despite the tropical atmosphere, Harry frowned. “Are they here?”
Severus laughed. “Certainly not. This is their attempt to make up for their...snafu.”
Harry relaxed. “That’s okay then.”
~
“This view’s incredible,” Harry breathed, gazing at the private beach through the French doors.
Severus, lying in bed, hummed. “Indeed it is.”
Harry spun, blushing when he saw Severus staring at his arse. “I could get used to this.”
Severus pursed his lips. “I suppose I can brew anywhere,” he said, acting as if he was considering the idea. “But your commute to the Ministry would be much longer than you’re accustomed to.”
“True.” Harry walked back to bed, climbing in. “But the atmosphere here is pretty...inspiring.”
“Indeed.” Severus rolled atop Harry. “That’s exactly what I was counting on.”
~
Harry panted into Severus’ neck, waiting for his breathing to normalise. “Wow! That was--”
“Inspired.” Severus caressed Harry’s naked back. “The atmosphere here is quite conducive to lovemaking.”
Harry chuckled softly. “Like we don’t do it enough at home?”
“We do.” Severus sighed. “I just thought we deserved a break, a weekend away to relax and not worry about conceiving babies.”
Harry nodded. “That was one of Molly’s suggestions, too, remember? That we should relax and let it...happen.”
“Indeed. And I thought Tahiti would be very helpful for relaxing.”
Closing his eyes, Harry kissed Severus’ jaw. “You thought right.”
