Leaky Con Bullet Points

It occurred to me in the shower this morning that I hadn't yet posted my Leaky Con report. And of course, since it's been weeks since the con, I've prolly forgotten a bit too much to do my usual day by day recount of all the fun that was had. So, have the random report...

- Getting to hug mah lilyseyes in the airport is always the highlight of these things. We missed our dementordelta, though. *sniffs*
- The hotel was lovely, but a bit further away from the center of activity than I'm used to. Also, the neighborhood between the hotel and the convention center was...iffy.
- BUT we discovered Frank's Noodle House, which was AWESOME! Mmm, homemade nooooodles. *G*
- Voodoo donuts!
- New black velevt robes! *twirls*
- samwise_sam and chaeche as Severus' and Harry's Patronuses at the Ball. *g*
- There were lots of lovely Doctors (Tens and Elevens mostly) and their girlfriend TARDISes.
- Vendor rooooom. :)
- I broke my steampunk wand. :((
- BUT I fixed it once I got home. :)
- Disorganized Con Committee was still disorganized. *sigh*
- Cool convention center, though. Bravo, Portland.
- This is the second time I've attended a Leaky, and the Slash and fanfic meets were AGAIN not run by the people who were supposed to do it, so audience members had to 'volunteer'.
- Starkid. Ugh.
- Slash Suite, whoo hoo! There was always someone there to hang with. ♥
- snottygrrl has the best job in the world. Also, I loved giving her random numbers and letters. Heh.
- Shopping with dacro and saladbats. *g*
- HPnotique. ;)
- Lots of male shash fans. :)
- Vladimir Snape. Love the way he says, "Babbity. Rabbity." Heh.
- Tapas!
- It was hotter in Portland than it was at home. *sigh*
- But yay for HP people everywhere! :)

I've forgotten tons, but the bottom line is this: It was nice to get away and hang with mah fandom peeps.
As for upcoming con plans:
Misti was a better con and I definitely plan on going in 2015.
Not sure about Leaky next year. The idea of a disorganized con committee in JULY in FLORIDA (which is not my favorite state right now anyway) makes me cringe.
And if the rumors of Lubricus 2014 are true I am totally going to that. :)

Okay...where is Lubricus supposed to be? And Misti-Con?

Lubricus has been put on twice and both times it was just outside Seattle. I assume it would be there next year, too, if they offer it although, when I was speaking with Chaeche at Leaky, she mentioned they were contemplating changing the hotel to make it be closer to downtown Seattle, but that would also make it more expensive, so I guess we'll see.
Misticon is offered in Laconia NH, by beautiful Lake, erm, Winnepesaka (sp?). Anyway, we take over the hotel so it's all 'us', which is nice. And the townspeople are lovely.
