Exerting His Influence

As Severus entered the banquet hall, people stared and the murmuring began. “You’re the talk of the town,” murmured Lucius behind him.
Severus snorted. “Oh?”
“It’s said you’ve seduced someone influential, explaining your business success.”
Severus raised an eyebrow. “And who’s that?”
“No one knows.” Snagging two glasses champagne from a passing tray, Lucius handed Severus one. “But do remember you can tell me anything.”
Severus inclined his head. “Indeed.” Although I shan’t.
Lucius coughed as the silence lengthened. “Anyway, if you’ll excuse me?”
“Of course.” Watching Lucius go, Severus spotted someone duck behind a curtain and, smirking, he followed.

Upon stepping through the curtain, Severus was immediately pushed against a wall. “You looked awfully cosy with Malfoy,” Harry growled.
“Jealous?” Severus dragged Harry closer.
“Maybe,” Harry admitted. “What did he want?”
“Evidently I’m the talk of the town,” Severus said. “Rumour has it I’m dating someone influential, thus explaining my business success.”
“I’m influential?”
Severus smirked. “Some would say it doesn’t get more influential than you.”
Harry snorted. “You’ve worked hard for that business. That’s bollocks.”
Severus pressed his erection firmly against Harry. “Indeed. And speaking of bollocks--”
Harry laughed. “You’ve a one-track mind.”
“Are you objecting?”
“Definitely not.”
