Draco laughed. “It’s impossible to outdrink a Malfoy.” And as the elf delivered more drinks, he raised his glass in salute. “So your nefarious plan won’t work.”

Potter grinned. “Oh well,” he murmured. “I’ll have to do this the hard way, then.”

Draco raised an eyebrow. “Do what, exactly?”

“Ask you out.”

Draco’s heart sped up. “I await your attempt,” he said, trying to appear casual.

“Okay.” Leaning forward, Potter clasped Draco’s hand. “Sooner or later one of us has to commit. So, what do you say? Want to leave this place and go on a real date with me?”
