“What about Charlie Weasley? He’s brilliant. Such a slut.”
Kingsley, having just entered the club, paused to listen.
“I’d heard that. Which one’s he, then?”
“That ginger.” There was a pause. Kingsley didn’t look, but imagined the men were evaluating Charlie.
“Nice.” Someone hummed. “Let’s go introduce ourselves...Oh, here’s Alan, he’ll know.”
A new person, presumably Alan, joined the conversation. “See anyone you like?”
“What about Weasley?”
“Oh, he was brilliant, he was. But he’s off the market now.”
“Really?”
“Yes, ever since Shacklebolt’s arrival he won’t even look elsewhere.”
Kingsley smiled.
“Shame. Right, how about that hot blond--?”
~
When Kingsley arrived at the booth, Charlie smiled in greeting. “There you are. I thought you’d forgot.”
“Sorry. Unexpected delay.”
Charlie hummed. “No worries. You’re important. I knew that when we got together.” He gestured to the menu. “I waited to order.”
“Lovely.” Sliding in beside him, Kingsley kissed Charlie. Nothing like their usual hello, the kiss was slow, sensual, and tender. Gasping into Kingsley’s mouth, Charlie melted against him.
“Wow,” he whispered when Kingsley raised his head. “What was that for?”
Kingsley smiled. “For being you. Are you thirsty?”
“Not really.”
“Want to go to mine?”
Charlie hummed. “Definitely.”
~
“They were talking about me?”
“Yes. It seems you’ve quite the reputation.”
“Wow.” Charlie, his head resting on Kingsley’s stomach, laughed. “I’m not sure if I should be embarrassed or proud.”
“I’m not sure your reaction should be either,” murmured Kingsley. “What you did before I arrived in your life isn’t important.”
“No?” Charlie raised his head. “Because they’re not wrong. I was pretty wild, actually. I’d do anything and anyone in those days.”
“But not since being with me.”
Charlie smiled. “Who would want anyone else?”
Reaching for him, Kingsley kissed him fiercely. “I feel the same about you.”
