On Loving a Werewolf

Relaxed, Severus eyed the full moon, his mood thoughtful.

Beside him, finally resting, lay Moony, calm now that his body was done reknitting itself into beast shape. Wolfsbane had done its work and he was sleeping, his chest moving slowly with his deep breaths.

Resting a hand in his fur, Severus stroked, knowing the movement soothed them both, and savouring the moment of peace in what was usually a chaotic night.

Life with Remus, and Moony, was often stressful, but just then, he could enjoy the simple pleasure of uncomplicated companionship. Severus smiled. Perhaps loving a werewolf wasn’t all bad.
