My first thought re. men and women, is that the set-up is so culturally coded that I can't even take it seriously ;) I know I'm not supposed to, that it's for fun, but still. Cultural differences are massive - and I would bet Martha and Fred's thoughts are coded more by the world they live in than their chromosomes.

The accent video is AMAZING! And I'm proud that I was correct in my idea of several of these - I guess that extensive travelling in the UK pays off, eh? ;) Also, maybe, that Denmark has an insane amount of dialects.

Well there's definitely something to what you say, of course. Martha and Fred are definitely a product of the society in which they live. But I'd say this is still pretty accurate for the couples/people I'm familiar with. :)

I know, right? I loved that accent vid, too. Very impressive.
Heh, if I ever need to write anything with Danish characters, I'm coming to you for Danish picking. ;)

I'm not saying it doesn't happen. I guess I have a certain knee-jerk reaction to "men are this and women are that" stuff, because it's so damn reductive. Not that there's anything wrong with smiling over familiarly funny stuff :)
