Weekly Random Post of Random
Jun. 7th, 2014 02:26 pm- This is one of the best responses to fat shaming/bullying I've ever seen.
- This, vid, about a trangender child posted by his parents, totally made me cry. And while I knew the risk of suicide was higher in transgender people, I had no idea it was THIS HIGH. WTF are we doing to people? *weeps*
- This post made me reevaluate depression.
- You have to see this fabulous underwater photo shoot. But what got me? Was what he said in the vid at the end. "If you work with people who are as passionate about success as you are, you cannot fail, you can only succeed." So, so true.
- Hilariously punny restaurant names, FTW! My fave was prolly 'Frying Nemo'. *g*
- People can be weird. Um, not sure what to even say about this except that you gotta see it to believe it and that people are...interesting creatures.
- Autocorrect mistakes that cracked me up. *giggles*
And there last two are things others on my FList have posted this week as well, but that I think could use a signal boost. - Powerful social issue ads that bring the point home.
- Why do we need net neutrality? This is why. Thank you, John Oliver. ♥

Date: 2014-06-08 10:46 pm (UTC)Ryland's story has unsurprisingly made quite the splash - and several rounds - in my circles. It's lovely and moving and I am so, so glad to see the era where at least some transgender kids get to grow up like Ryland.
As someone who had depression for many years: OMG that poster! <3
Wow, those photos. So, so beautiful.
Those names *cracks up* I can't even pick a favourite :D
The ads really are well done...
And yes, thanks John Oliver. For making this accessible to everyone in a really good way.

That poster really opened my eyes.
I know, right? Gorgeous photos are gorgeous. :)
*giggles* Those names are so clever. If I lived near those places I'd totally patronize them. :)
The ads made me stop and think for sure.
