Harry sat up. “Do you think I should talk to Ron now?”
Severus thought about it. In his observations of Ronald Weasley he’d noted a hot temper that flared bright but then died down just as quickly. “I think the sooner the better,” he finally said.
Harry nodded as if Severus had confirmed his own idea. “That’s what I was thinking, too.” Leaning in, he kissed Severus. “I may be late coming home--” He paused. “I mean coming back later.”
Severus smiled. “I’ve no objections to you thinking of my home as yours, although, again, it’s only been a few days. You should leave your options open--”
With a growl, Harry pressed up against him, treating him to a thorough kiss that left them both panting. “I like my current options just fine,” he said. “If you don’t want me here just say so, otherwise I’m returning.”
Severus exhaled. “If I ever decide your presence is unwelcome, be assured I shall let you know.”
Harry blinked, then started to laugh. “Yeah, you’ve never been especially shy.” Clasping Severus’ hand, he said, “I can stop by the shops tonight and pick up something for supper. What would you like?”
“Are you offering to cook?”
Harry shrugged. “Sure. Although you’ve pretty much sampled my entire repertoire. To produce anything more exotic I’ll need cookery classes.”
“I’ve considered them,” Severus admitted. He hesitated. “They even have couples cookery classes on offer at a local restaurant.”
“We should sign up.” Harry kissed him, then pulled away and stood up. “I really should go,” he sighed. “Especially if I want to catch Ron before he goes home.”
Severus nodded. Rising, he walked with Harry to the Floo. “I think he’ll forgive you.”
Harry squared his shoulders. “Let’s hope,” he said, and, in a flare of green flame, was gone.
Deciding to make himself a cup of tea before returning to his brewing, Severus walked into the kitchen. A moment later he heard the Floo and, shaking his head, called out, “You can’t spend your entire day talking to me, Harry. Your colleagues and superiors will get suspicious!”
Hermione Weasley’s voice answered him. “It’s not Harry, Snape. May I come through?”
