May Madness Wrap Up

So I've finally had some time to do a bit of a wrap up on this year's hp_may_madness', er, madness. *g*
The Masterlist of participants is here if interested, and they had some interesting statistics. The mods, as always, did a fabulous job! ♥

Anyway, this year, I did my own stats because why not? Read at your own risk. ;)

  And now for the fun part!
  
  
  The fics broke down into the following types of pairings:
  Het: 15
  Slash: 12
  Femmeslash: 2
  Mixed: 2
  
  And the following ratings:
  NC-17: 17
  R: 9
  PG-13: 3
  PG: 2
  (At least there were no G rated fics)
  
  As for House affiliations, the clear winner was Gryffindor, who had 18 members featured in fics. Followed distantly by Slytherin, who had 8. Then came Hufflepuffs with 2 and Ravenclaws with 1 *pets Luna*. Unknown Houses 4 (unless someone knows about Poppy or Rolanda?) and then Other (thanks, Fleur) had 1.
  
  As for who was the most popular character, the winner, appearing in 7 fics is Harry (that slut), followed closely by Severus, who was in 6, Hermione, who appeared in 5, and Draco, Pansy, Blaise, and Neville, who all appeared in 3.
  
  Although, since I didn't pick the pairings, you can't blame me for that. :P
  
  More interesting is that I had a couple of dark fics in the mix (unusual for me), and that the women in my fics liked pegging. A lot. *g*
  
  And I had more R rated fics than I realized. I was aiming for mostly NC-17 when possible, but I guess it wasn't always possible for my muse. *pets her*
  
  The fics that surprised me the most? Prolly a toss up between Good Boy (with domme Lavender), Hide and Seek (Bill/Harry), Paradise (Greg/Luna), and the Slytherin orgy. *g*
  
  And, as for the total word count, I wrote 21,660 words. Not as many as some, but I was pleased. Believe it or not I was trying to stick as closely as I could to the 200 word minimum, and since I averaged almost 700 words a day I was close-ish? :P
  
  
  Anyway, this year's fest was a ton of fun, if a little stressful. Typically I'm nervous the first 2 weeks and then after that I'm fine, figuring the rest is downhill. But there's always that little thrill as I wait for the pairings/prompts to appear where I think "Can I do it? Or is this the time when I'll fail to think of something to write?" *g*
  
  This fest, it keeps me on my toes. :)
