The
hp10k_showcase just started posting, and right away we get a fabulous fic from
snegurochka_lee.
This story is heartbreaking, gut-wrenching and totally a must read. Also>
raitala's art is perfect for the piece. Now go, read, review and keep watching the com, yes?
Title: The Path of Least Resistance
Author:
snegurochka_lee
Pairings: Teddy/Albus Severus. Past unrequited Teddy/James. Appearances by Harry and Luna.
Rating: R
Warnings: Substance abuse. Grieving after a major character death. Albus is 18.
Word count: 10,900
Summary: Teddy had been clean for barely thirteen weeks the night Albus landed on his doorstep, reminding him of everything he'd tried to leave behind. It's hard to mourn a loss when you can barely acknowledge it's happened. It's even harder when you think you're responsible for it.
Author's notes: Many thanks to all the other Showcase participants who offered suggestions on this story and caught my canon fail. Huge thanks also to
raitala, whose wonderful illustration of Teddy can be found if you scroll down in the fic.
Lee is writing to raise awareness of: The Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada (although this is not the subject of the fic!)
It's also fabulously illustrated by
raitala, drawing to raise awareness of Mental Health Issues. The illustration is rated PG.
