I'm running out the door but the Harry/Ginny pairing has to count loads of fics that are infidelity or break-ups or a million other canon things that really shouldn't "count" IMHO. I mean I seem to have 25 Harry/Ginny fics and I think (though I can't check now) probably about 3-5 are actually shippy.

Well, as you now know, that list merely an opinion, so I feel better about it.

When we compile the links for the sshp_prophet there is always TONS of Snarry.
Admittedly, we don't count the Harry/Ginny fics, but having Snarry be so low made no sense.

It seems to me, the person ranking that pairing list has quite the hate for age gaps. Which, aw, is one of my favourite things.

Thanks! Yeah, that's more like it. Harry Hart/Gary "Eggsy" Unwin is still on rank 84 (better than 98 on the other list), but maybe that will change once the new movie is out. *g*

The tone seems contemptuous of fanfic in general and het in particular which rather rubbed me the wrong way.

Wouldn't that be because most of the Snarry fics written were pre-AO3 and are still on LJ instead of uploaded to AO3 because it definitely should be a higher placed pairing? That's my story anyway. *nods sagely* Though now that I've clicked the link and seeing it's not an official list from AO3 and reading the post's first description of the 100th pairing...the fuck? Oh, one of those people. *rolls eyes forever*

I'm thinking that that list of popular pairings needs to be taken with a pinch of salt. I'm not in the fandom but there's no way that the Winchester boys are that low down while Enjolras/Grantaire is at the top of the list!
