...at Potterversecon!
So far so good.
The day's gone well, with no hiccups.


It was a nice short line at local airport this morning (I think this is the quietest I've ever seen it), there were no flight delays (miracle!) and I even got to ~Balmore (as the natives pronounce it) a bit early.
The drive to the hotel took a bit longer than expected because of traffic (there was an accident) but other than that, it's been a fab travel day.

I have now registered and am all checked in and waiting for my partner in crime, dementordelta to arrive. *bounces*

I have also checked out the vendors, met some people (I love Potter people!), and bought two more wands some stuff! *g*

There shall definitely be pictures of my loot later, but for now, here's a pic of the view from our room.

Nice, hm?

Anyway, so far I like the feel of this con. It feels like real fans are in charge, and lilyseyes and sassy_cissa will be pleased to know there's no Starkid in sight. ;)

I'm glad you're enjoying the con so far! Always good to feel like it's a fan friendly place! Can't wait to hear your rundown of it after the fact. After Leviosa, I've been really wanting to do more cons, but I'm not very well versed in finding them etc.

Yeah, this group usually runs Dr Who cons. This is their first HP, and it does show.
BUT, I'm hoping they'll be up for come con crit.

So glad you're having fun so far! And isn't Baltimore nice? (Did you know I teach there? I can't remember if I'd mentioned that.)

Anyways, really sorry I'm not there to meet up with you and enjoy the Potter excitement. When I first saw your post about this, I was about to write back and say "Yes! I'll come up and meet up with you!" but the sad fact of the matter is that commuting DC --> B'More --> DC three days a weeks totally kills any desire I might have to visit for fun. The metro-commuter train routine is just a little too long and tiring.

Hm. Are you near the Inner Harbor? There's a new Jacob Lawrence exhibit at the Reginald Lewis African American museum as of today!

We are right at the Inner Harbor, our hotel is across the street! We had breakfast at the Cheesecake Factory, which I shall expound upon more in my next post. ;)
