I sing and I have a decent soprano voice. I sing in my church choir for two masses every Sunday. (lilyseyes has heard me sing, so ask her for more detail).

I had cancer a couple of years ago and as a result I have leftover nerve damage in my hands and feet, which means I can only wear flat, open toed shoes. I had to give away like 50 pairs of (really cute) shoes this year! So sad.

Even though I was born Jamaican and only left at 18 to come to school in the US, I have never smoked pot. :)

I have always been a huge nerd and when I discovered LoTR I was so addicted I learned the Elvish runic alphabet and wrote my name in Elvish inside my copies of the books. *g*

I used to be cold a lot, but now I am hot ALL THE TIME, so much so I no longer bother with a coat. As an example, it was 38 degrees F this morning and I wore a sleeveless shirt and a scarf to church. Also, I have a battery fan on me AT ALL TIMES.

I am kinda weird about music. I love everything from classical (Bach is AWESOME) to Bruno Mars, but I'm also oddly picky. (No country music, only some rap).

I love bling. I've almost always have something shiny on.

I collect chintz patterns. Just because they're pretty and complicated and pretty. <3

I have this habit of adding -age/-ages to words. For example, if I hug someone I say I gave them "huggages". So you can extrapolate from that. This thing I'm writing right now would be a postage as part of a memage (see tag). *g*

I'd consider myself an extrovert with introvert tendencies. I like hanging out with people, but there comes a point when I need to be alone, or at least with just 1 or 2 people sitting quietly.

Sorry to hear about the neuropathy (and the shoes *sniff*). As a fellow show-obsessive, I totally understand the sacrifice.

I'm with on the music tastes. I'm eclectic, but I've never been able to listen to country.

Yes, the neuropathy has made life interesting. :(
And I didn't even mention the boots. *sigh* At least I know they went to good homes. I took them to work and the nurses divvied them up. :)

Ugh, I just can't deal with country music at all.

Cancer fucking sucks, dude. Glad you're still here. Also, nerve damage sucks donkey balls. How does the open toe limitation work out for you in the winter? of course, if you feel really warm all the time, that helps.

Go, soprano! I always wanted to be, but alas, not so much. But, I do love to sing! I used to be in choir when I went to a church that had one. One of the highlights of qrade 12 in high school was going on Tour Choir for Easter. I wasn't so crazy about having to support the tenors, since I was one of two altos who could sing the high tenor parts the guys were struggling with, but overall, it was a complete blast. I love the beauty of hearing an amazing arrangement take life as the voices meld together in the gestalt of choral singing. There really is nothing else like it,

I used to think I was an extrovert, but I've discovered I'm really not so much, at least not in RL situations. I like people, but face to face human interactions are draining.

So my feet are numb, which means I don't feel a lot through my feet, although, as you say, it does help with my overheating issues. :P

You're right about singing. There's something about singing in a group that's magical. My choir friends are essentially my family. <3

LOL! I LOVE gaudy, shiny jewelry. *g* I've a dear friend who makes me jewelry all the time and I LOVE it. :)

Face to face interactions are what I do all day, LOL. When I get home it's nice to not talk to anyone for a while (a fact I had to work to convince the H of), but once I recharge, I'm good to go. :)

Awww, how adorable! I was never as knowledgeable about LOTR as for some other things/fictional universes (Harry Potter, for instance), although I love it and I do remember learning by heart an Elvish phrase of blessing when I discovered it hahaha :'D

I'm so sorry about the nerve damage! How do you manage wearing only open toed shoes in the winter? I know you live where it's cold. That must be hard. An interesting collection of tidbits! Thanks for sharing them. :D

I'm impressed with the amount of singing you do. Do you practise a lot? I'm married to a tenor, and there are certain songs I now know rather well.

We practice weekly for about 2 hours every Thursday night.
In my experience, the more you sing the better you get. :)

I also learnt how to read and write Elvish when I was about 16 ... it got me through boring general studies lessons (when I turned up) - a friend and I used to write notes in Elvish.

I'm the opposite with heat ... I always used to be boiling (except for my feet and hands) but now I feel the cold SO MUCH!!

Awww. Yeah, I used to be cold, too, and prolly will be again some day, but right now, hormones (or lack of I guess) are giving me my own personal summers. :P

Thanks, hon. Yeah, the nerve damage does suck, but it's getting to the point now where I sometimes forget about it, so, yay?
The shoes about broke my heart. *sigh*

LOL! I've no moral objections to weed, I just never have. And now that I'm an oncologist, I don't like the thought of smoking anything, really. *pets lungs*
