I might have a go at some of hp_may_madness Stress-wise I rarely commit (even mentally) to a month's worth of writing, but could dip in and out. Am I right in thinking the pairing isn't obligatory to use with the prompt(s)?

You are correct.
I think the only rule may be it has to be at or over 200 words? Although I'm going from memory here and could be mistaken.

I've checked the rules again, and it looks like that is correct. 200 words I can do, but some of the previous pairings are well outside my limited HP knowledge.

Yeah, they don't expect you to always (or ever) do their pairings.
I have seen people do a fic in chapters, I've seen people do their own pairings every day...it's whatever you like. :)
I personally would love to see you do a Snarry chaptered fic. *g*

Okay, one Snarry chaptered fic coming up - won't be every day (especially as I'm away for two weekends this month) but I'll have a go!
