- So you know that long list of things black people can't do? Like sitting in Starbucks, golfing, using Air B&B, falling asleep in our own common rooms in college, hanging out in our own back yards, driving... Now we can add swimming while black to the list. *shakes head*

Date: 2018-06-20 05:05 am (UTC)While I look white at a casual glance, I'm more mixed; and culturally, I don't really think like a white person. Violence against people of color still alarms me in ways that just don't bother most people. They don't see it as a threat to their personal survival. I do.
It's hard to fix, though. A backlash swing can have devastating momentum.
