Fun with the flist

So I've been trolling my Flist today and I've come across several interesting things.

1. A post from emiime reminded me that hp_valensmut is now open for signups, yay! I haven't signed up yet but I will because I am a sucker for fests. I now know this about myself and accept it. *sigh*

2. And because I am also a sucker for puppy eyes, I have agreed to write shiv5468 a Lumione fic. I suppose the sensible thing to do would be to look through the luciusfqf list of prompts and kill two birds with one stone, eh? Edit: And here's the prompt I picked...

3. The finish_a_thon is almost done (one week left, yo!) and while I've made some headway on my fests, I still have a bunch of older fics languishing, so I hope to finally finish a couple of those this week.

4. And since we're all writing furiously, I thought this timely reminder from celandineb about fic commenting would be nice to link. Cel is so calm when she posts metas. Me? I just rant. LOL.

5. And, just for the sheer entertainment value, do go read this hilarious commentporn by iulia_linnea. *g*

I won't be signing up for Valensmut, I've decided I can do the ones where get a prompt, but not the ones where I have to write something based on the questionaires for someone elses taste :/

It's a busy week, lots of after work meetings, call, and early am meetings. *eyeroll*
By the end of the week I may be a bit testy and I may be needing some alone time with the compy so I can get some things written. *sigh*

Well it's just that I'm only comfortable writing certain pairings, because I understand the characters and like them.

Not to mention I'm lazy and perfer reading and I'm worried about how to write a fic for another person, someone I most probably don't even know.

Pick one of the fests that let's you specify the pairings and scenarios you're willing to write (Valensmut lets you do that, BTW) and then use it as an exercise to stretch yourself. ;)
