We're doing Vivladi's Gloria for midnight Mass tonight.

Are you doing it all, including "et in terra pax"?
We did that part last year :( not my favorite.

Where are you singing? What part do you sing? Second soprano, here.

Yep, we did the entire thing with full orchestra. It was fun!
Et in tera pax is difficult I think because it can go flat really easily. My favorite part of the whole thing is Domine fili unigenite. LOVE that. :)

I sing in a Catholic cathedral choir in the midwest. I also sing in a motet group that sings mainly 14th century motet music, AND I sing in a dioscesan wide scola group. I sing first soprano. *g*

Wow; your singing groups are impressive. Sounds like a lot of fun. And the entire "Gloria"!

First soprano, I'll bet you can hit notes I haven't seen in 30+ years ;)

Hahahahah! I do like being able to sing those high notes. ;)
And the Gloria was fun.
Our director is talking about doing the Bach Magnificat next year, so we'll see. I'm excited about that.
Next big thing? Lent/Easter. We'll have to see if I can make the high C in Allegri's Miserere. *g*
