“It’s him, isn’t it?” she cried. “You’re leaving me for him!”
He ducked his head, guilty eyes sliding away from her. He didn’t want to hurt her feelings, but in this situation he couldn’t lie. Swallowing, he forced the word past his dry throat.
“Yes.”
“You bastard,” she hissed. Then, emitting a sob that made him cringe, she began to cry. “It won’t last, you know,” she whimpered, shoulders slumped. “The grass always seems greener in the beginning. You’ll get bored.”
He thought of all they had been through and he smiled. “No, I don’t think we’ll ever be bored.”

Date: 2007-12-31 06:53 am (UTC)I also don't think it's Draco and Pansy, unless you write Draco as a pansy... :S Anyway, *waves hand* Draco wouldn't feel guilty, and Pansy wouldn't be all broken up about it. They're Slytherins, they don't show emotion. I'm not entirely sure Pansy has emotion. *ponders*
Nono, nono, she wouldn't throw out some stupid remark about green grass, she would hex his genitals off and his asshole closed...IF his leaving her for another man came as a surprise, which I doubt. Pansy's not a complete idiot; Draco's got more fashion sense than she does any day.
Also, Draco would not feel bad for breaking the news to her. He'd assume she had it all figured out. He also wouldn't feel bad if she didn't because he would just think her a worthless imbecile for not having it all figured out. Since she's not, it wouldn't come as a surprise, thus he doesn't feel bad.
This man figure has real guilt for leaving the girl figure like this. Draco wouldn't give a shit; he puts up a front (Slytherin!), he feels no shame (he is who is, bitchez), and he's a selfish brat. Harry, on the other hand, did not kill Jiminy Cricket at age four and three quarters, thus doing this to this girl makes him feel marginally bad for her.
