Introduction

Eyes are the windows to the soul they say, so the first time Harry looked into Draco’s face after the battle, he could hardly credit what he saw there. Hope, trepidation, wariness; it all swirled in those grey depths.

“Potter?” Draco said, voice soft, unsure. “Thanks.” And in an oddly familiar gesture, he extended his hand.

Harry clasped it firmly, startled at how right it felt. “You’re welcome.” His hold on Draco tightened. “Can we... begin again?”

Draco’s eyes sparkled, inexplicably reminding him of Dumbledore. It was like sunshine breaking though grey windows. “Sure. I’m Draco Malfoy. And you are?”
