The click of the staff-room door locking was loud. Surprised, Remus looked back at Severus who appeared engrossed in grading. “You locked the door,” he said.
“Clearly.”
“Why?”
“I am giving you detention.”
Remus frowned. “Severus, I’m on staff. You can’t give me detention.”
“Ah, but you’ve been naughty.”
Remus laughed nervously. “What?”
“You consumed your chocolate dessert with such...enjoyment that I couldn’t help but contemplate more lascivious activities.”
“Are you...flirting?”
Severus smirked. “Certainly not. I am simply collecting on your promise.”
Remus smiled. “I wondered if I was being too subtle,” he said.
“With a Slytherin? Never.”
