Worldcup Wrap Up
May. 23rd, 2008 10:06 amAs you all no doubt know by now,
hd_worldcup REVEALS went up yesterday. Congratulations to the winners, Team Epilogue, and to the other winners, the writers and artists and fans of the fest. Bravo, all of you!
This of course means that I can now claim the fic that I wrote.
It was Catch Me If I Fall (HERE on IJ) for the prompt The Fool, and I am slowly working my way through all the lovely and wonderfully detailed comments. If you are inclined, do go and have a look and let me know what you think. I do plan to repost it at some point, but it may be a few days before I manage to do that.
I have a real affinity for team writing fests. It started with
snarry_games and to some extent continued in Worldcup, but I have to come to realize that what really makes it a fun experience is your teammates. Obvious, I know, but I have been trying to pinpoint exactly what it is that really makes a team writing event stellar for me, and I have come to this conclusion.
It's
sansa1970.
She was on Team Postwar with me last year AND she was our amazing captain on Team EWE this year, and she saved me both times. I think I just need to be on teams with her from now on. *nods* She has a way of making it fun and wonderful and I have learned so much from her! *hugs her*
Of course, that doesn't mean that I don't adore my other teammates, even those who never seem to manage to stay on a team with me, lol, to whit:
eeyore9990.
Eey and I had never been on the same team for anything (despite trying for years in
snarry_games) until Worldcup. *shakes head* I think we may have to give up on that, babe! ;)
Anyway, back to the point, which was Team EWE.
Amazingly lovely people they are.
blamebrampton is the best author I'd never heard of before the fest. *glomps her*
sesheta_66 stepped up when our beloved
sansa1970 went on vacation, bless her. Also? She has the one of the best set of beta eagle eye I have ever seen, the woman can spot a typo from outer space, I swear.
rickey_a is amazing. She wrote two fics for the fest, both lovely, and she was a constant source of support to the team.
nefernat and
raitala (who provided of a lot of our amazing icons) were unfailingly cheerful throughout, bless them. Also, have you seen
raitala's art? If not you really must. :)
Speaking of art, our artists,
pinkelephant42,
stitchesandlace,
naandi and
dramedy. Wonderful, all of them. :)
To sum up, I love Team EWE and I would be on a team with any of them in the future in a second. *hugs them all*
Anyway, that's it for now. I am still in Games mode, so there will be some pimpage and iguana taunting here in the next few days. Keep watching!
