Missed

The worst was the loneliness, the idea that he wouldn’t be missed, Remus thought as he lay panting, exhausted from his transformation.
Something loud approached and Remus froze.
“There you are!” Hagrid exclaimed, picking him up and setting off.
“Hagrid?” Remus frowned. “How’d you--?”
“Professor Snape got worried and sent me.”
“Severus?” Remus felt warm despite the chill.
Dozing until they arrived, he woke to see Severus hovering over his bed. “Didn’t think you cared,” he gasped.
“Course he does,” Hagrid said, and when Severus didn’t contradict him, Remus relaxed at last. Perhaps he wasn’t as alone as he’d thought.
