Well Deserving
~
A flaxen-haired toddler ran, squealing as her raven-haired brother chased her.
“Be careful, James!” Harry called.
A hand grasped his, lacing their fingers together, and Harry smiled, turning to greet Draco. “You got my note?” he asked.
“No,” Draco said. “I just knew you’d be outside on this gorgeous day. You’re quite predictable.”
Harry shrugged. “I couldn’t help it,” he said, eyes following their children. “They deserve a childhood full of the summers we didn’t have.”
Draco nodded, and moving closer, rested his chin on Harry’s shoulder as he watched. “That they do, Harry,” he said softly. “That they do.”
