Severus searched diligently as Draco watched his mentor’s behavior, puzzled.
“It was here...” Severus muttered, turning back towards Draco. The most promising Potions student he’d had in a generation; Severus was determined to help him shine.
Just because Slughorn had been fooled by Potter’s act was no reason that Draco should suffer. A non-Slytherin at the head of Potions was not acceptable.
“It contains my notes. With its help, Slughorn shall be forced to acknowledge your ability.”
“And Potter would be disgraced.” Draco smirked.
Severus nodded. “He would indeed,” he said, resuming his search. Now, where was that blasted book?
