Date: 2017-10-15 03:16 pm (UTC)Meanwhile, I am enjoying your links. Got 32 on the history and 100% of the grammar (those things always make me nervous, English teacher that I am :))
I haven't watched Discovery yet (waiting to do so with my partner over Thanksgiving; you may or may not know that we met in a ST:Voyager chat room). But I'm looking forward to it!

Date: 2017-10-16 01:45 am (UTC)I know we say this every week, but I keep thinking surely he can't get any worse, and then he does. *sigh*
His supporters are a mystery to me. I don't understand them, and this may make me a terrible person, but I don't think I want to understand them. :/
And yes, I imagine there are more venal, evil, amoral people backing him, and that frightens me to no end. :(
Ooh, you aced the history, go you! And of course you rocked the grammar. :)
I didn't know that! Awww, that's sweet. I love when geeky things bring people together. I will be interested in your impressions of Discovery. :)

Date: 2017-10-16 01:49 am (UTC)I...the new ST is different. I'm having trouble with it, not because it's not good, but because it's doesn't feel like Star Trek. If they'd called it its own thing, I would be fine, but everything we know about ST seems to be contradicted by this show. *shrugs*

Date: 2017-10-16 03:05 pm (UTC)Heh. Pretty food always poses a conundrum. I had wrecking it, but, on the other hand, PIE! *g*
LOL! Yeah, I'm pretty hairy, too, and at this point, I give no fucks about it, you know? *shrugs* One of the benefits of getting older I suspect. :)

Date: 2017-10-16 10:25 pm (UTC)Got 100% on the grammar test :)
Also, hee on the connection between HP and ST:Discovery. Whilst i'm stil reserving judgment on how well Discovery fits in with Star Trek in generally, I'm definitely intrigued by it and by Lorca. Especially be Lorca.

Date: 2017-10-16 11:57 pm (UTC)Of course you did. You is smart. <3
Yeah, Discovery would be a total win if it wasn't claiming to be ST. Time will tell how well it works. :)

Date: 2017-10-17 09:34 pm (UTC)Couldn't agree more. If it were any scifi series I'd love it to bits. As it is I enjoy watching it, drool over Lorca and postpone judgement on the whole ST thing.
Also, now there's a little plot bunny hatching in which Hermione introduces Lucius to Muggle scifi and he starts to fantasise himself as a mysterious bad-ass captain... <3
