Weekly Fic Wrap Up
Mar. 17th, 2008 10:03 amAnother Monday, which means it's time for the weekly wrap up list.
The list is a bit short this week, mainly because I spent the majority of the last week putting finishing touches on my
hd_worldcup fic and helping my teammates with theirs. Now if only my Snarry muse would return so I could get my
snarry_games going...
Anyway, here's the list.
Against All Odds SS/HP
Slytherin Math SS/HP/DM
Sharp Tongued Man SS/HP
Signs HP/RW
Wax HP/DM
Lucky Hunt HP/DM
Not a Bad Prediction SS/RL
Grandmother Interruptus NL/BW
More Than Enough HP/DM
And, here's that other list that never seems to get shorter.
1. April
daily_deviant fic, due April 5th.
2.
snarry_games fic, due April 13th.
3.
hp_wankfest fic, due April 16th.
4.
percy_ficathon fic, due May 31st.
5. My standard weekly drabbles/ficlets for
snape100,
snarry100,
snupin100,
hd100,
dracoharry100,
slythindor100 and
neville100 and
slytherins100.
6. Leftover WsIP from my
finish_a_thon list, including my yet to be completed D2D fic, and some abandoned Snarrys.
And now for some fest ranting...
Does anyone else feel as though the joy has been sucked from fandom? All the fests are killing me!
Before you guys say anything, yes, I know that I did it to myself and that the reason my TBW list never gets any shorter because I keep signing up for fests, but they're just so SHINY! *sigh* I have to do something, though. I know a lot of upset people right now who are getting burned out, either because they are participating in a zillion high pressure fests or because they are trying to read all the fest fics that are popping up daily. And may I just say, I still have fics bookmarked from December! Meep!
It may be that I'm heading for some burnout, too, if I don't take a break soon. I want to go back to the days where I spent most of my time writing stories just because I want to write them and not for a specific deadline.
Now, I'm not including
daily_deviant in this. Yes, it's got a deadline but nothing else about it is set, you know? I get to pick the pairing, the kink prompt etc. I love that community. What's killing my muse is all the exchanges and fests, especially the less flexible ones; those are the ones that are making me and several members of my flist tear our hair out. A year off from fests may be something to consider...
Anyway, the Percy ficathon is the last thing I've signed up for this year. *sits on hands* Let's see if I can manage to at least get caught up before I start signing up for things later in the year.
So, am I the only one who feels this way?
